A heavy spell of rains in South Gujarat has led to disruptions in normal life. In Dang district, dozens of roads have been closed due to the heavy downpour. Meanwhile, in Navsari, two dams are overflowing, prompting rescue operations.

Motorists are advised to be cautious and follow official advisories in the affected areas. The rising discharge from the overflowing Juj and Keliya dams in Navsari may raise water levels in downstream villages and along the Purna River. Residents living in vulnerable areas are urged to stay vigilant.

The villages likely to be impacted by the overflow from the dams have been identified by officials. In Tapi district, rescue teams have been active in response to flooding incidents. Additionally, schools in Surat district have been closed as a precautionary measure against the heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has forecasted more heavy rainfall in parts of south and central Gujarat, along with thunderstorms and gusty winds. A red alert has been issued for central Gujarat, including Panchmahal, Dahod, and Mahisagar. The state has already witnessed significant disruptions due to heavy rains, with Valsad experiencing flooding and evacuations.
