High drama ensued outside BJP MLC C.T. Ravi’s residence in Chikkamagaluru when Karnataka Police arrived to serve a notice for questioning him regarding a hate speech case related to his comments during a protest against NEET. The police action led to heated exchanges between officers, BJP workers, and advocates, with party supporters accusing the Congress government of targeting opposition leaders.

Ravi faced backlash for his statement about mullahs during the NEET protests, resulting in an FIR against him. He clarified that his remarks were aimed at condemning a specific individual’s actions during a student protest in Delhi and were not meant to target the Muslim community. Ravi questioned the legal basis for the case against him and criticized the police’s handling of the situation.

Despite the controversy, Ravi stood by his comments, emphasizing that he was speaking about factual events and not making derogatory remarks towards any community. The police attempted to serve a notice for Ravi to appear before investigators, but he refused to accept it, leading to further tensions between BJP workers and the authorities. The incident is expected to spark political debates in the state.
