Curtains fell at Bharat Mandapam as the 26th Asian Senior Fencing Championship, India’s first Continental-level competition, concluded. The event marked a significant milestone in the country’s sporting history with a spectacular Closing Ceremony that blended elite sport passion with Indian heritage.
The championship, held at Pragati Maidan, brought together over 400 athletes and delegates from 34 countries under the theme “One Dream, One Blade, One Pride.” Japan emerged as the winner with 6 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze medals, followed by South Korea and Kazakhstan.
India’s Fencing Association successfully hosted the tournament, showcasing local talent like Prachi Lohan and Sachin. The event featured a mix of traditional and modern Indian cultural performances, celebrating unity and international camaraderie.
