Leading automobile company Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has introduced a new feature on its myHyundai app, enabling electric vehicle (EV) users to access over 30,000 charging points nationwide. This move establishes one of India’s largest integrated electric vehicle charging networks available on a single platform. The myHyundai app, developed in collaboration with charge point operators and service providers, is open to all EV brands, offering services like locating nearby charging stations, booking slots in advance, and making digital payments through a unified interface.

HMIL’s integrated network covers charging facilities within an average radius of 25 km across India, including major highway corridors like Delhi-Gurugram-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Goa, Chennai-Vellore-Bengaluru, and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru. Tarun Garg, the Managing Director and CEO of HMIL, emphasized the importance of charging infrastructure in driving electric vehicle adoption in India. He highlighted that the myHyundai app’s integration of over 30,000 charging points aims to provide one of India’s largest charging networks accessible through a single platform, welcoming EV owners across different brands.

In addition to this initiative, HMIL revealed its plans to expand its proprietary DC fast public charging network from 183 stations to 600 stations by 2030. The company reported that its existing charging infrastructure has facilitated over three lakh EV charging sessions and supplied more than 50 lakh kWh of energy. Furthermore, the use of HMIL’s charging stations has contributed to preventing approximately 3.5 million kg of carbon dioxide emissions. HMIL is also gearing up to enhance its electric vehicle lineup by introducing a mass-market electric SUV within the current financial year.
