US tech giant IBM and Indian company Yotta Data Services have revealed their collaboration to construct an Agentic AI platform for businesses and government bodies in India on a locally hosted cloud. The platform, utilizing IBM watsonx Orchestrate and deployed on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, aims to facilitate AI adoption for organizations while adhering to data residency, security, and regulatory requirements.

This initiative will empower organizations to implement and oversee AI agents across various sectors such as IT service management, HR, finance, procurement, and customer support. Sandip Patel, Managing Director of IBM India and South Asia, highlighted the importance of securely operationalizing AI in alignment with regulatory expectations, emphasizing the combination of IBM’s AI capabilities with Yotta’s sovereign cloud infrastructure.

As the demand grows for platforms that can manage AI-driven workflows across business functions with governance and control, IBM Sovereign Core will be integrated into Yotta’s Shakti Cloud. This integration will aid organizations in establishing and managing AI-ready sovereign environments, ensuring continuous compliance monitoring, verifiable control, and governed AI execution across data, operations, technology, and AI.

The collaboration’s objective is to offer Indian organizations a robust foundation for deploying agentic AI at scale without compromising compliance or control. By hosting IBM Sovereign Core on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, organizations can build and operate AI-ready sovereign environments tailored to India’s regulatory requirements, facilitating compliance with data residency mandates and the deployment of AI workloads within defined sovereign boundaries.

Sunil Gupta, Co-Founder, Managing Director & CEO of Yotta Data Services, emphasized the necessity of anchoring AI innovation in sovereignty, security, and performance. The partnership with IBM aims to empower enterprises to leverage agentic AI on a secure, India-hosted cloud, enabling innovation with confidence while retaining control over their data and operations. Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, offering scalable GPU infrastructure and AI services for Indian enterprises, combined with IBM watsonx Orchestrate, is designed to expedite AI adoption with speed and security, facilitating AI-driven orchestration to enhance operational efficiency across functions.
