In Sambhal’s Mukarrabpur area, an ‘Imambara’ and another structure were demolished on Friday by the district administration following a court order. The action is part of an ongoing drive against illegal encroachments. The District Magistrate mentioned that homeless families will be resettled on government land cleared of illegal constructions.

Authorities stated that the demolition was carried out in compliance with a Tehsildar court directive. Over 200 hectares of land have been cleared in the past 40-45 days. The Superintendent of Police informed that the illegal structures were built on barren land related to an Anganwadi.

The police have deployed personnel from four stations along with the Rapid Action Force to oversee the demolition process. The official emphasized the importance of vacating such illegal structures to avoid penalties. Earlier in the week, a mosque and Eidgah were also demolished in Sambhal on court orders.
