The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhopal has predicted isolated rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning in various districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and more. Gusty winds of 30–40 km/h are also anticipated in these regions, while the rest of the state is expected to remain dry. Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors during thunderstorms, avoid trees, and unplug electrical devices for safety.
The IMD has cautioned farmers to delay irrigation activities and protect crops and livestock due to the weather conditions. In the past 24 hours, dry weather prevailed across Madhya Pradesh, with a heatwave affecting Narmadapuram. Temperatures have been higher than normal in divisions like Bhopal, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, with the highest maximum temperature reaching 41.6 degrees Celsius in Narmadapuram.
Notable temperature increases have been observed in Bhopal and Gwalior divisions, with a rise of 2.3 to 3.0 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures. The forecast for March 28 in Bhopal indicates clear skies with temperatures around 38 degrees Celsius during the day and 20 degrees Celsius at night, accompanied by light winds. The IMD stresses the importance of staying hydrated and cautious during outdoor activities as summer approaches, urging the public to stay informed about weather updates.
