The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhopal issued a warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in various districts of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. Rainfall was reported in Gwalior and Jabalpur divisions, while most parts of the state remained dry in the past 24 hours. Maximum temperatures were below normal in most divisions, with Narmadapuram recording the highest at 37.8 degrees Celsius and Pachmarhi the lowest at 14.2 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall or thundershowers with lightning are expected in several districts including Vidisha, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Guna, and others, while Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and Morena may experience hailstorms. The IMD advised people to stay indoors during stormy weather, avoid unnecessary travel, and take precautions against lightning and gusty winds.
The IMD officials warned of isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, with a possibility of hail in some northern and western districts. Precautions such as staying indoors, avoiding trees and metallic objects, and safeguarding livestock and crops were recommended. The IMD experts also mentioned the upcoming Western Disturbance expected to impact the Western Himalayan region from April 11, bringing further weather changes.
