With the summer heat increasing, incidents of fire, particularly due to electrical short circuits, are on the rise in Madhya Pradesh, especially in urban areas. One recent fire incident occurred in the early hours of Monday near Indore’s Regional Park, where a destructive blaze broke out, engulfing two furniture showrooms beyond the park’s boundaries. Firefighting teams worked tirelessly for hours to contain the dangerous blaze, which posed a threat to nearby structures.
Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in this incident, although it took more than 27,000 liters of water to extinguish the fire. Municipal corporation tankers also helped by fetching water from a nearby pump. Authorities mentioned that the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but initial findings point to a spark from a short circuit that rapidly escalated into a massive fire.
Prior to this event, Indore witnessed another tragic fire a few days earlier, caused by a suspected short circuit at an electric vehicle charging point, resulting in the death of seven individuals. The fire, which started in the early morning hours, quickly spread from the vehicle to a residential building, leading to a fatal outcome due to the presence of multiple liquefied petroleum gas cylinders inside the house.
