The India ‘A’ team, led by Tilak Varma, has reached Sri Lanka for the 50-over tri-series scheduled at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium from June 9-21. The tournament will kick off with India ‘A’ facing Sri Lanka ‘A’ on June 9, alongside Afghanistan ‘A’. The final match is set for June 21, as confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
India ‘A’ witnessed changes in their squad before the Sri Lanka tour. Harsh Dubey’s selection for the Test and ODI teams against Afghanistan led to Anukul Roy’s inclusion in the ‘A’ team. Additionally, Ruturaj Gaikwad was appointed vice-captain following Riyan Parag’s injury, with Parag undergoing rehabilitation in Bengaluru.
The India ‘A’ squad comprises experienced players like Varma, Gaikwad, and Kamboj, alongside emerging talents including Sooryavanshi, Arya, Singh, Badoni, and Sindhu. Notably, the coaching staff for the tri-series in Sri Lanka will include Kanitkar, Joshi, Balaji, and Ghosh.
