The India ‘A’ men’s cricket team is set to visit Nepal for a three-match T20 series in December this year, as announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The matches will take place at the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. This tour arrangement was confirmed during the ICC Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, with discussions involving officials from CAN and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
India ‘A’ is scheduled to play against Nepal on December 9 in the first game of the series. Subsequently, the second and third T20 matches are planned for December 11 and December 13, respectively. This series presents a significant opportunity for Nepal to challenge themselves against a strong Indian A squad, which is expected to include top performers from the Indian Premier League (IPL) and players on the fringes of the senior men’s T20I team.
The collaboration between BCCI and CAN has strengthened in recent years, leading to this upcoming series. In preparation for last year’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers, the Nepal men’s team underwent an intensive training camp at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Nepal’s team had previously engaged in tri-series matches against Gujarat and Baroda domestic teams as part of their preparations for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup.
