Left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Harsh Dubey has been included in India’s team for the last ODI against England at Lord’s, replacing the injured Washington Sundar. Sundar suffered a right hamstring injury during the second ODI in Cardiff and will miss the series-deciding match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Sundar requires rest and recovery due to the hamstring strain.
Dubey, who debuted for India in ODIs against Afghanistan in June, joins the spin bowling unit alongside Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. He showcased his skills during India A’s red-ball series victory in Sri Lanka, contributing with both bat and ball. Post the ODI, Dubey is set to travel to Zimbabwe for a three-match series starting on July 23 in Harare.
India’s updated squad for the third ODI includes Shubman Gill as captain, with players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others forming the team. The match will be followed by Dubey’s participation in the Zimbabwe series, with games scheduled on July 25 and 26 at the Harare Sports Club.
