India and Australia engaged in discussions to enhance education cooperation, academic partnerships, and people-to-people connections through education and skills. The High Commissioner of India to Australia, Nagesh Singh, met with Australia’s Minister for Education, Jason Clare, to explore avenues for strengthening ties in these areas. The focus remains on bolstering the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through educational collaborations.
Nagesh Singh also held talks with Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ted O’Brien, to further solidify the growing partnership between India and Australia. The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation across shared priorities and reinforcing the existing strong people-to-people and strategic bonds. Additionally, discussions were conducted with Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Chris Bowen, to advance bilateral cooperation in clean energy, climate action, renewable technologies, and sustainable growth.
Furthermore, Nagesh Singh met with Australian House of Representatives Speaker Milton Dick at Parliament House in Canberra to discuss the deepening India-Australia partnership, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary exchanges and shared democratic values. Earlier interactions between India and Australia included a meeting between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Australian counterpart Penny Wong in New Delhi. The ministers reviewed the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, exchanging views on various issues ranging from economic and energy matters to defense, maritime security cooperation, and regional geopolitical dynamics.
