Discussions during the meeting covered key areas such as supply chain resilience, digital health, and human resource development. India presented its approach to addressing non-communicable diseases, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, while Japan shared its initiatives on cancer screening and capacity-building projects. India showcased its pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing capabilities, focusing on strengthening domestic production and ensuring affordable access to medical products.
In the realm of digital health, India introduced its ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ aimed at creating a citizen-centric digital health ecosystem. Japan shared its expertise in digitalization, AI-enabled medical technologies, and collaborative research efforts. Both countries also discussed human resource development, with India highlighting its skilled healthcare workforce ecosystem and exchange programs, while Japan outlined joint research and personnel exchange initiatives.
