India and Russia conducted Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi, emphasizing their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. The meeting, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, covered various bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest.
During the consultations, both sides extensively discussed the spectrum of their strategic partnership and exchanged views on key areas of cooperation. The focus was on enhancing collaboration in areas such as counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, and United Nations Security Council reforms.
Furthermore, recent engagements between India and Russia, including the 7th UN Consultations and a telephonic conversation between the External Affairs Minister of India and the Russian Foreign Minister, highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties and address regional conflicts.
The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in December, culminating in the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation in energy, nuclear power, trade, defense, and technology sectors.
