India secured a thrilling seven-run victory over England in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-final at Wankhede Stadium. This win sets up a final clash with New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India is now on the verge of defending their T20 World Cup title and aiming for a second win.
In the match, India batted first and posted a formidable total of 253/7 against England. Sanju Samson played a crucial role, scoring an explosive 89 off 42 balls. His aggressive batting, comprising eight fours and seven sixes, set the tone for India’s innings.
Samson formed key partnerships during the innings, including a significant 97-run stand with Ishan Kishan and a 43-run partnership with Shivam Dube. His quick half-century in just 26 balls was instrumental in India’s strong total.
England, in their chase, faced early setbacks but fought back with middle-order batter Jacob Bethell’s brilliant century. Despite Bethell’s efforts, India’s tight bowling in the death overs restricted England to 246/7, securing India’s spot in the final against New Zealand.
