India Elects to Bat Against Netherlands in T20 World Cup 2026 Match

India won the toss and chose to bat against the Netherlands in the 36th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India made two changes to their lineup, resting Axar Patel and excluding Kuldeep Yadav, allowing Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh to join the team. Noah Croes replaced Fred Klaassen for the Netherlands.

India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, expressed confidence in batting first on a good surface, aiming to set a defendable total. He highlighted the positive team spirit and adaptability to different match situations. The Netherlands’ captain, Scott Edwards, also acknowledged the favorable batting conditions and emphasized the importance of a complete performance.

Both teams announced their playing XIs for the match. The Netherlands featured Michael Levitt, Max O’Dowd, Bas de Leede, Colin Ackermann, Scott Edwards, Zach Lion Cachet, Noah Croes, Logan van Beek, Roelof van der Merwe, Aryan Dutt, and Kyle Klein. India’s lineup included Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh.
