The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas announced that the ‘India Energy Week (IEW) 2026’ is scheduled to be held in Goa from January 27–30. This event will bring together global ministers, CEOs, policymakers, financial institutions, academia, and technology providers to discuss critical issues in the energy sector. With a focus on energy security, investment catalysis, and decarbonisation pathways, IEW 2026 aims to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among participants from over 120 countries.
The previous edition of IEW in 2025 witnessed the participation of 68,000 attendees, 570 exhibitors, and 5,400 conference delegates. Featuring 100 conference sessions with more than 540 global speakers, the upcoming 2026 edition is expected to further expand its global presence. Hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and organized by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and dmg events, IEW 2026 serves as a neutral platform for discussions on energy security, affordability, and sustainability.
Delegations from various regions including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific are set to attend IEW 2026, highlighting India Energy Week’s growing significance in global energy diplomacy. As per the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2025, India is projected to drive more than 23% of global incremental energy demand by 2050, the highest share among all countries. Against this backdrop, IEW 2026 will convene policymakers and industry leaders to deliberate on fortifying resilient energy systems and expediting the transition to clean energy.
India’s notable achievements in the energy sector include the ethanol blending program, which has led to substantial benefits such as foreign exchange savings of Rs 1.59 lakh crore since 2014 and a significant reduction in carbon emissions. The country has also made strides in strengthening domestic exploration and infrastructure, expanding petrol retail outlets, CNG stations, and PNG household connections. Moreover, India has successfully maintained price stability for consumers amidst global energy price fluctuations.
