India is set to have a strong presence at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos from January 19-23. The country, known as the fastest growing major economy globally, aims to attract global investments at this global gathering. Union Ministers, Chief Ministers from various states, and over 100 CEOs of leading companies are heading to the Swiss Alpine resort for this event.
Key figures from India attending the economic sessions in Davos include Union Ministers like Ashwini Vaishnaw, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Pralhad Joshi, and K Rammohan Naidu. Chief Ministers such as Devendra Fadnavis, N Chandrababu Naidu, A Revanth Reddy, Mohan Yadav, Hemant Soren, and Himanta Biswa Sarma will also be present to seek investments for their states.
The theme of this year’s Forum is ‘Spirit of Dialogue,’ reflecting global economic uncertainties amidst US tariff issues and geopolitical tensions. Notably, US President Donald Trump will lead the largest US delegation ever at the WEF, with key members like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in attendance.
The 56th edition of WEF in Davos-Klosters will witness the participation of nearly 3,000 leaders from over 130 countries, including 400 top political leaders and 850 CEOs. The event will also host prominent global figures like Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
