India faced a tough 3-4 defeat against Spain in a shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time during the Hobart leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26. Maninder Singh’s impressive goal gave India a 1-0 lead until the 59th minute when Spain’s Bruno Font equalized, leading to the shootout. Spain dominated early possession, with both teams missing key scoring opportunities in a closely contested match.

Spain’s relentless pressure paid off with a late equalizer, forcing the game into a shootout where India fell short, securing only one point from the match. Despite a valiant effort, India’s Abhishek and Hardik Singh’s misses in the shootout proved costly. The Indian team will now face Australia in their next match in the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025-26.
