The India Meteorological Department center in Bhopal has issued a warning for Madhya Pradesh due to a complex atmospheric situation. This situation includes an impending severe heat wave and localized thunderstorm activity. Residents in various districts like Balaghat, Sheopur Kalan, Mandsaur, Ratlam, and others should prepare for thunderstorms with lightning.
Over the past 24 hours, districts including Morena, Gwalior, and Bhind have experienced light rainfall and gusty winds. Some areas like Alipur and Prithvipur received 4 millimeters of rain. The weather report indicates the presence of cyclonic circulations over Jammu and southwest Madhya Pradesh at different altitudes.
Despite ongoing localized storms, the main concern for the next five days remains the severe heat wave. Health officials advise staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities between noon and 3 p.m., and dressing in light-colored cotton clothes. Farmers are urged to use light, frequent irrigation and refrain from applying fertilizers or pesticides during peak heat hours.
A fresh western disturbance is anticipated to impact northwest India by May 15, potentially affecting the prevailing weather patterns.
