India concluded the BOXAM Elite International 2026 in La Nucia, Alicante, with a remarkable performance, securing nine gold medals. Lovlina Borgohain and Arundhati Choudhary led the charge, with India dominating the final day by winning gold in all seven Elite Women’s finals, including an all-Indian title clash in the 54kg division.
The tournament, which featured over 200 boxers from 20 nations, showcased India’s prowess as they emerged as the most successful nation with nine golds, three silvers, and seven bronze medals. BFI President Ajay Singh praised the competition for providing valuable exposure and preparing Indian boxers for the challenges ahead.
On the final day, India’s women excelled, with Manju Rani, Nitu, Poonam, Priya, Arundhati, Lovlina, and Naina clinching gold medals in their respective weight categories. The women’s head coach, Santiago Nieva, commended the team’s discipline and confidence, highlighting their exceptional performance in reaching and winning all seven finals.
In the men’s finals, Sachin and Akash secured gold medals in thrilling contests, while Deepak and Ankush settled for silver medals. India’s success in Spain adds momentum as the national boxing programme gears up for upcoming major championships and multi-sport events.
