India is set to showcase its strongest team ever in the 5th Bonus Asia Cup Bridge Championships 2026, to be held in Panaji, Goa, from 21–27 June 2026. The event, organized by the Bridge Federation of India, will see 46 elite teams from Asia and Oceania competing in various categories.
The Indian contingent will include renowned players like Sumit Mukherjee, Rajeshwar Tiwari, Kiran Nadar, and others, who have excelled on the international stage. Prasad Keni, President of the Bridge Federation of India, expressed pride in the Indian teams participating in the prestigious championship, emphasizing the country’s strong representation across all categories.
India’s success in international bridge was highlighted at the 2018 Asian Games, where the nation secured its first gold medal in the sport. The current Indian challenge will be led by accomplished players like Sumit Mukherjee, Rajeshwar Tiwari, and Kiran Nadar, who have a history of success at major tournaments.
The championship will witness top players from countries like China, Japan, Australia, and Korea, ensuring a high level of competition. The event, supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Sports Authority of India, aims to promote bridge as an intellectual sport and strengthen India’s position on the global stage.
