Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed that the trade deal between India and the US signifies the start of a fresh chapter in the relationship between the two nations. This agreement, as highlighted by the Chief Minister, is a significant win for the friendship shared between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. It is a pivotal moment for global trade, granting India a preferential tariff rate from the US and setting the stage for a new phase in Indo-US relations.
Fadnavis emphasized that this deal will create exciting opportunities for Indian businesses, benefiting both countries. He mentioned that Maharashtra, known for its exports, will now have expanded prospects for its business ventures, including investments in Data centers, AI, and frontier technologies. State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule also lauded the agreement, stating that it will offer Indian products enhanced access to the American market, particularly benefiting MSMEs, startups, manufacturing, exports, and job creation.
Bawankule further noted that the pact underscores India’s emergence as a reliable global trade partner and will bolster the visions of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. He commended Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for positioning India strongly on the global growth map, enabling Indian products to reach broader international markets and fostering opportunities for young entrepreneurs, farmers, and MSMEs. Mumbai BJP president Ameet Satam described the India-US trade agreement as a landmark moment in global trade, attributing it to the robust bond between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump. This deal is seen as a gateway to new economic influence for India, offering immense potential for Indian businesses and ensuring mutual growth. Maharashtra, being a leader in exports, is poised to witness transformative investments in AI, Data Centers, and frontier technologies.
