The Indian Army and Assam Rifles in Tripura marked the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas with various patriotic, educational, and community programs. The events aimed to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War and inspire the youth with patriotism. The commemorative activities included musical performances, cultural displays, and a documentary screening on ‘Operation Vijay.’
Citizens, students, veterans, Veer Naris, and civil administration members actively participated in the programs. The Army Symphony Band performed patriotic music, and artists showcased cultural performances celebrating the courage of the Armed Forces. A Pipe Band display by the 21 Sector Assam Rifles and a Kargil Quiz Contest for students were also part of the event.
The commemorative events featured a medical camp at the Military Hospital in Agartala for veterans, Veer Naris, and Next of Kin. Specialist doctors provided medical consultations and screenings, emphasizing the Army’s commitment to the well-being of veterans and their families. These initiatives aimed to pay tribute to the Kargil War heroes and promote patriotism and national unity among the people.
Assam Rifles organized similar programs in Radhanagar and Agartala, including wreath-laying ceremonies, documentary screenings, and patriotic activities. Floral tributes were paid at Shaurya Sthals to honor the martyrs of Kargil. The programs also involved students in patriotic activities, blood donation camps, and educational initiatives to instill a sense of national pride and respect for the Armed Forces.
