Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi revealed that 65% of the terrorists eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir in the past year were of Pakistani origin. The Indian Armed Forces took down a total of 31 terrorists in 2025, including three responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 innocent people.
Gen Dwivedi stated that the recruitment of terrorists is nearly non-existent, with only two instances in 2025. He emphasized that the situation along the northern and northwestern borders is stable and under control, highlighting the importance of remaining vigilant.
The Army chief noted a positive shift in J&K in 2025, with a transition from terrorism to tourism evident in the region. He mentioned that interactions and measures are aiding in the normalization of the situation, allowing for various activities along the Northern Borders.
Gen Dwivedi highlighted the successful response to the Pahalgam terror attack through “Operation Sindoor,” emphasizing the strategic precision and dismantling of terror infrastructure. He assured that any future misadventures will be met with a resolute response, showcasing the synergy among the tri-services.
