Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, met with United States Army Pacific’s Commanding General, General Ronald P Clark, and other officials in Honolulu to discuss enhancing defense cooperation and promoting peace in the Indo-Pacific region. During his visit to a US military base in Hawaii, General Dwivedi received a Guard of Honour at Fort Shafter and conducted an aerial tour of Oahu Island.
The meeting between General Dwivedi and General Clark focused on strengthening India-US defense ties and aligning on a shared vision for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific. This engagement follows recent discussions between the air force chiefs of both countries, emphasizing interoperability, training, and regional deterrence in the region.
Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh also visited the US, where he was warmly welcomed and held talks with senior US Air Force leaders regarding the strategic defense partnership. Discussions highlighted the importance of cooperation for a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific, with a focus on modernization efforts and future training opportunities.
