Gen Dwivedi expressed that during crises, the nation should depend on its indigenous systems, which have proven effective and are increasingly integral to national security.
Discussing the significance of self-reliance in national security and future war strategies, Gen Dwivedi emphasized the need for the country to rely on its own systems, industrial base, and capability to sustain prolonged conflicts. He noted the successful performance of indigenous systems in various critical areas like surveillance, communications, and precision engagement, stressing their growing importance in military preparedness.
Gen Dwivedi pointed out the evolving nature of modern warfare and the emerging requirements in areas such as long-range precision fires, advanced munitions, drones, and counter-UAS technologies. He highlighted the necessity for enhanced systems in electronic warfare, resilient communications, AI-driven decision-making, autonomous platforms, and battlefield awareness to meet the evolving demands of defense forces.
Highlighting the unique terrain, threat landscape, and operational needs of India, Gen Dwivedi underscored the importance of developing Indian solutions for Indian challenges. He emphasized the collaboration with various entities like DRDO, DPSUs, private industry, MSMEs, startups, and academia to expedite trials, provide better support, and ensure swift implementation of solutions.
Operation Sindoor was mentioned by Gen Dwivedi as a validation of the Indian Army’s advanced and integrated warfighting capabilities, demonstrating the collective strength of India’s security framework. He also emphasized the significance of the Army’s transformation into an institution that is integrated across multiple domains, ensuring readiness for future challenges.
