The Albert Ekka Brigade, known for its valor in the 1971 India-Pakistan war, celebrated its 56th Raising Day in Agartala with reverence. This Brigade, which holds prestigious gallantry awards, played a crucial role in the Battle of Gangasagar during the war. Lance Naik Albert Ekka, a member of this Brigade, was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery in securing a critical enemy position near the Tripura border.
