A devastating road accident in Motihari has resulted in the untimely death of Ashok Kumar Singh, an Indian Army soldier who was home on leave, leaving his family and the entire village in mourning.
The incident occurred in the Sangrampur area early Friday morning when Singh, standing near his residence, was hit by a speeding truck carrying a heavy load of timber, causing severe injuries.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital by locals, Singh succumbed to his injuries during treatment, cutting short his visit home before he could return to duty on April 18.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, moving at high speed and seemingly overloaded, lost control, leading to the tragic accident that has left Singh’s family, including his inconsolable wife and young daughter, devastated.
The truck driver fled the scene post-accident, prompting Bihar Police to initiate a search operation to apprehend the driver, with initial investigations pointing to overspeeding and heavy loading as the main factors behind the fatal crash.
Singh, remembered by locals as a humble and patriotic figure who inspired many to serve in the armed forces, is mourned as a significant loss to the community, with legal proceedings underway and assurances from authorities of the driver’s imminent arrest and appropriate action.
