The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps has initiated a 100-day anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with the UT administration’s ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. This campaign, led by the Chief of Staff (COS) White Knight Corps, aims to combat drug abuse through a series of impactful activities over three months. The launch included a Joint Pledge Ceremony and a Pad Yatra by school children and NCC cadets at Nagrota, symbolizing a collective determination to tackle drug-related issues.
In collaboration with various stakeholders such as civil administration, police, medical agencies, educational institutions, and community leaders, the initiative adopts a comprehensive approach. Over the next fourteen weeks, the focus will be on raising awareness in schools and colleges, engaging communities through influencers and religious figures, and conducting targeted outreach programs for youth and families. The campaign will utilize structured lectures, interactive sessions, testimonial engagements, and media outreach, complemented by digital platforms and grassroots involvement.
The anti-drug effort will also emphasize early detection, counseling services, and connections to rehabilitation resources, while encouraging positive behavioral changes through community involvement and youth-centric activities. This joint endeavor underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to collaborating with state agencies and civil society to address social issues, foster public trust, and guide the youth towards a productive and drug-free future. “We Serve, We Protect!” affirmed a spokesperson.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha recently kicked off the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan’, a 100-day campaign, announcing stringent measures like revoking passports, Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, and seizing properties of drug traffickers and dealers as punitive measures to eradicate the drug menace in the UT.
