Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will clash in the men’s final, while the women’s final will feature Madhya Pradesh against Jharkhand in the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior National Championship 2026 at Rajgir, Bihar. The battle for third place in the women’s category will see Hockey Odisha against Uttar Pradesh Hockey, and in the men’s category, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey will play against Hockey Punjab. The finals will take place on April 12 at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium.
In the men’s final, both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh enter the contest unbeaten after securing victories in the semifinals. Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu 4-2, while Uttar Pradesh overcame Punjab with a 6-2 win. This final is a rematch of last year’s third-place encounter won by Uttar Pradesh Hockey.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey boasts the top two scorers in the division, with Shahrukh Ali leading with 14 goals and Nitish Yadav scoring seven goals from penalty corners. Dhiraj Pal from Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey is also among the leading scorers with five goals.
The women’s final is anticipated to be thrilling, with defending champions Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Madhya Pradesh leading the scoring charts with 19 and 18 goals, respectively. Hockey Jharkhand defeated Uttar Pradesh Hockey 2-0 in the semis, while Hockey Madhya Pradesh won against Hockey Odisha 2-1. Nousheen Naz from Hockey Madhya Pradesh is the top scorer with nine goals, followed by Sandeepa Kumari from Hockey Jharkhand with five goals.
The men’s preliminary matches until the semifinals were held in Rajgir, while the women’s preliminary matches took place in Ranchi.
