Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan led a delegation to Armenia, where discussions with Armenia’s Minister of Defence Suren Papkyan focused on enhancing defense cooperation between the two nations. General Chauhan also engaged with faculty and students at the National Defence Research University, addressing global security challenges and technological advancements.
During the visit, General Chauhan emphasized the evolving nature of warfare, particularly the impact of technology on modern conflicts and the importance of multi-domain operations. He met with Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Lt Gen Edward Asryan to explore avenues for strengthening defense ties.
The Indian delegation, led by General Chauhan, inaugurated the IT Lab and Distance Learning Centre at Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy of the Armed Forces of Armenia in Yerevan. This visit signifies a significant step in advancing shared strategic interests and fostering long-term defense and security collaboration between India and Armenia.
In a gesture of respect, General Chauhan paid tribute at the Armenian Genocide Memorial & Museum in Yerevan, honoring the memory of the victims of the genocide. The visit underscored the deepening ties and enduring friendship between the two nations, reflecting a commitment to mutual capability development and strategic partnership.
