Indian cricket stars Mohd Siraj and Tilak Verma will headline the TG20 Player Auction for Telangana’s premier franchise cricket league. The auction will take place at the Princess Convention Centre, Ramoji Film City, featuring a pool of talented cricketers including domestic performers like Rohit Rayudu, Rahul Buddhi, CV Milind, and Tanmay Agarwal, along with emerging talents such as Aaron George and members of Telangana’s Vinoo Mankad Trophy-winning squad.
More than 1,300 HCA-registered cricketers will be up for auction as franchise owners gear up to build their squads for the upcoming cricket extravaganza in Telangana. The TG20 league, with eight franchise teams, 32 matches, and over 21 days of cricketing action, aims to showcase the best talent from the state, marking a significant milestone in Telangana’s sporting landscape.
The auction process will categorize players into different segments like Icon Category, A+, A, B, C1, and C2 Categories, allowing franchises to create well-rounded teams of up to 20 players each. Franchises are required to include a minimum of four district cricketers in their squads, with at least two district players in the playing XI, promoting local talent development.
Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu, along with HCA’s Cricket Operations Committee, has been instrumental in organizing open trials that garnered immense interest from aspiring cricketers. The auction will be overseen by sports presenter Charu Sharma, adding a touch of professionalism and excitement to the event, which will be broadcast live on JioHotstar for fans worldwide.
