Indian diplomats and senior US leaders engaged in a series of meetings in various locations across the United States this week, focusing on trade, energy, and strategic cooperation.
In Bismarck, the Consul General of India in Seattle, Prakash Gupta, met with North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong and First Lady Kjersti Armstrong over an Indian meal. Governor Armstrong expressed strong support for enhancing India-North Dakota bilateral ties in trade, culture, and people-to-people connections.
In Houston, Consul General D.C. Manjunath visited Honeywell’s facility and met with company leaders and representatives of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. Discussions at the meeting included the global energy sector outlook, emerging technologies, and the growth journey of Honeywell, with a focus on collaboration in areas aligned with India’s priorities in energy transition and sustainability.
Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Paul Kapur participated in Princeton University’s 2026 Global India Conference, emphasizing US national security imperatives and the partnership with India. He also toured Holtec’s technology and manufacturing hub in Camden, New Jersey, to learn about nuclear energy investment plans and partnerships with Indian companies for job creation and energy security.
India and the United States have strengthened cooperation in trade, energy, and advanced technology, with bilateral trade exceeding $190 billion. The two countries collaborate closely in the Indo-Pacific region and through the Quad initiative.
