A 24-member Indian fencing team has set off for Hong Kong to participate in the Senior World Fencing Championships 2026, scheduled from July 22 to July 30, 2026. The event, spanning nine days, will be hosted at the AsiaWorld-Expo venue. The team comprises 12 male and 12 female athletes competing in Épée, Foil, and Sabre disciplines in both individual and team categories.
The squad includes the top fencers from India, except for CA Bhavani Devi, who is currently under suspension for her conduct during the Asian Fencing Championships 2026 in New Delhi. Despite missing their experienced fencer, the team is heading to the championship with high spirits.
Rajeev Mehta, Secretary-General of the Fencing Association of India, expressed his best wishes to the Indian team, emphasizing the significance of this championship for Indian fencing.
