The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has been commended by Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, for its pivotal role in grooming future leaders and bolstering India’s global trade presence. Ranking first in the ‘Times B-School Ranking 2026’, IIFT stands out as a premier institution focusing on international trade and global business, emphasizing its commitment to excellence in management education.
Goyal lauded IIFT’s dedication to equipping students with essential skills, vision, and critical capabilities, underscoring the institute’s continuous efforts. Commerce Secretary and IIFT’s Chancellor, Rajesh Agrawal, highlighted the institution’s academic strength, expanding global outlook, and pursuit of excellence, aligning with India’s ambition to excel in international trade.
Established in 1963 under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, IIFT offers flagship MBA programs, executive education, and doctoral research, contributing significantly to India’s growth in global commerce and trade policy. With campuses in Delhi, Kolkata, Kakinada, and GIFT City, IIFT is also set to launch its first offshore campus in Dubai, further expanding its global footprint.
Professor Rakesh Mohan Joshi, Vice Chancellor of IIFT, expressed gratitude to Goyal and Agrawal for their unwavering support and vision. He reiterated the institute’s commitment to enhancing management education in international business by integrating contemporary realities into teaching, research, and operations, aiming to become a world-class educational institution.
In a bid to strengthen India’s global trade engagement, IIFT launched the International Trade Negotiations Programme last year for Department of Commerce officials. This initiative, led by IIFT’s Centre for International Negotiations, aims to enhance government officials’ negotiation skills, contributing to India’s trade diplomacy efforts.
