The Embassy, along with APEDA, worked to boost Indian fruit exports, leading to the availability of Kesar mangoes at Colruyt stores. Special mango tasting sessions are scheduled at selected stores on June 4, 2026, inviting people to savor the taste of India.
The Embassy recently organized a mango tasting event, showcasing the diverse flavors of Indian mangoes to the people of Belgium. Ambassador Pranay Verma emphasized how Indian mangoes represent the country’s agricultural heritage and warm hospitality. Attendees at the event enjoyed mango-based treats and EU GI-tagged Kangra Tea, offering a glimpse into India’s culinary traditions.
In a recent development, Indian mangoes have re-entered the US Pacific Northwest market, including Seattle, following a year-long initiative involving various stakeholders. The Consul General in Seattle, Prakash Gupta, highlighted the arrival of different mango varieties in the region during a special segment on Fox 13 News. Gupta expressed delight in reintroducing Indian mangoes to Seattle after a year-long effort.
