The Indian men’s hockey team is ready for the upcoming London leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26, taking place from June 23 to 28. This leg will feature crucial matches against arch-rivals Pakistan and host country England. The India-Pakistan clashes are highly anticipated, reviving a historic rivalry on the global stage.
This face-off will mark the first encounter between the two teams since the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy in Hulunbuir, China, where India emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline. Over the past decade, India has dominated the head-to-head record, remaining unbeaten in 17 meetings with 15 wins and two draws against Pakistan.
India enters the London leg of the FIH Pro League following a commendable performance in Rotterdam, securing two wins out of four matches. Led by Harmanpreet Singh, the team started with a narrow 2-3 loss to the Netherlands but bounced back with a 3-1 win over reigning World Champions Germany. Despite a 1-2 defeat in the return fixture against Germany, India finished strongly with a 3-2 victory against the Netherlands.
Chief coach Craig Fulton expressed satisfaction with the team’s performances in the Netherlands leg, emphasizing the importance of consistency. Ahead of the matches against Pakistan and England, Fulton highlighted the need for discipline and focusing on their game processes. He also acknowledged England’s strong form and expressed the team’s confidence in facing the English side.
