The Indian Men’s Hockey Team faced a narrow 2-3 defeat against the Netherlands at Hockey Club Rotterdam. Dilpreet Singh (10’) and Sukhjeet Singh (33’) scored for India, while Miles Bukkens (3’), Koen Bijen (23’), and Tijmen Reyenga (40’) netted for the Dutch. The Netherlands took the lead early with Miles Bukkens (3’) scoring a reverse finish, but Dilpreet Singh (10’) equalized for India with a remarkable shot.
Shilanand Lakra’s attempt hit the post for India in the 8th minute. Koen Bijen (23’) then put the Netherlands ahead before Sukhjeet Singh (33’) leveled the score for India. Tijmen Reyenga (40’) sealed the victory for the Dutch with a goal, despite India’s efforts to equalize in the final quarter.
India will play against Germany in their upcoming match on June 17.
