Australia initially dominated possession, but India’s resilient defense and Amit Rohidas’ penalty corner goal gave them a 1-0 lead. Both teams created scoring opportunities in the second quarter, with India maintaining a one-goal advantage at halftime. Jugraj Singh extended India’s lead in the third quarter with a powerful drag flick.
Despite Australia’s efforts to equalize in the fourth quarter, India’s defense held strong until Joel Rintala scored twice from penalty corners. The game progressed to a shootout, where both teams scored on their first four penalties. However, Australia secured victory as Aditya Arjun Lalage’s final penalty was saved.
