Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, visited Belize and met with Dame Froyla Tzalam, the Governor-General of Belize. Margherita conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of India and discussed ways to enhance relations between the two countries.
During his visit, Margherita engaged with the Indian diaspora in Belize, acknowledging their role in strengthening the ties between India and Belize. He highlighted the Indian community as a crucial link between the two nations, fostering a close and friendly relationship.
Margherita’s itinerary included meetings with Belizean dignitaries and visits to India’s developmental projects in Belize. Prior to Belize, he concluded a visit to Honduras, where he interacted with the Indian community and emphasized their contributions to bilateral relations.
In Honduras, Margherita met with Foreign Minister Mireya Aguero and Vice President Maria Antonieta Mejia to discuss deepening bilateral ties. His official visit also includes stops in Costa Rica and the Commonwealth of Dominica to strengthen India’s relationships in the region.
