A delegation from India’s National Defence College (NDC) is currently in South Korea on a Strategic Orientation Tour. The delegation, led by Maj Gen APS Bal, includes officers from friendly nations like Brazil, Indonesia, Maldives, the US, and the UK. They will be visiting various government establishments, military institutions, defense industries, and cultural sites in South Korea.

Last month, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with South Korean Minister for Defence Acquisition Programme Administration, Lee Yong-chul, in Seoul. Both sides agreed to collaborate on joint development, production, and exports. In April, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung visited India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During their meeting, they emphasized their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various areas for mutual prosperity and progress.

The leaders announced a Joint Strategic Vision to further strengthen the India-South Korea Special Strategic Partnership for the next five years. They highlighted the significance of defense industry cooperation and agreed to enhance the 2020 MOU on ‘Roadmap to Defence Industry Cooperation.’ Additionally, they decided to establish the ‘Korea-India Defence Accelerator’ (KIND-X) innovation platform to facilitate collaboration between businesses, investors, and universities from both countries.
