Indian Naval Ships INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti, and INS Kavaratti from the Eastern Fleet wrapped up their visit to Singapore on Sunday. This port call was part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment in the region, emphasizing the strong maritime partnership and mutual dedication to a secure and collaborative maritime environment. The visit involved professional interactions with the Republic of Singapore Navy to enhance interoperability and maritime cooperation.
The deployment of the Eastern Fleet ships reaffirmed the enduring maritime partnership between India and Singapore, underscoring their joint commitment to maritime security and stability. During their stay in Singapore, the Indian Navy ships engaged in various activities aimed at strengthening people-to-people connections and fostering friendly relations. This included interactions with the local Indian and diplomatic community on board INS Udaygiri.
Rear Admiral Alok Nanda, the commander of the Eastern Fleet, along with the commanding officers of the ships, paid respects at the Kranji War Memorial in Singapore. In a solemn ceremony, they honored the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defense of shared values of freedom and peace. Additionally, Indian naval officers held discussions with Singaporean Navy Fleet Commander Colonel Ang Chun Hou Bertram to enhance maritime defense cooperation between the two countries.
