The Indian Navy officially commissioned its stealth frigate INS Taragiri in a significant event attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This commissioning is a crucial step for India’s maritime security and sovereignty, marking a milestone in the nation’s defense capabilities.
Rajnath Singh praised the INS Taragiri’s commissioning as a symbol of India’s growing defense strength and its journey towards self-reliance in naval power. The warship, weighing 7,000 tonnes and armed with BrahMos and other missiles, will enhance India’s naval capabilities, ensuring the safety of maritime borders and deterring potential threats.
Emphasizing the indigenous production aspect, the Defence Minister highlighted that 75% of the warship was made locally, showcasing India’s progress in ship-building.
