Anusha Kutumbale and Priyanuj Bhattacharyya will headline India’s 23-player strong contingent at the WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026. The tournament, co-hosted by Ultimate Table Tennis and Sharath Kamal Academy, will take place from February 10-15 at the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University. Anusha Kutumbale, Sayali Wani, Kavya Bhatt, and Taneesha Kotecha secured wild cards in the women’s singles category.
The event will boast a prize purse of USD 300,000, with Achanta Sharath Kamal overseeing as the Event Director. Abhinandh Pradhivadhi and Divyanshi Bhowmick have earned the WTT Youth wild cards. Sharath Kamal emphasized the importance of wild cards in providing young talents a platform to compete against top international players. Manav Thakkar will lead India’s challenge in the men’s singles category.
Manush Shah, G Sathiyan, and Harmeet Desai are among the notable Indian players in the main draw. Mudit Dani and Anirban Ghosh received a wild card in men’s doubles, while Syndrela Das & Payas Jain secured a spot in mixed doubles. Foreign players Ryu Hanna and Kotomi Omoda earned women’s singles wild cards via WTT Nomination.
