The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) celebrated another successful day for Indian shooters at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 in Suhl, Germany. Sameer clinched the gold medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior event with a composed performance, securing 28 hits. In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior event, Rohit Kanyan’s outstanding performance earned him the gold medal, bolstering India’s performance at the championship.
India also bagged a silver medal as Prachi Gaikwad finished as the runner-up in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior event with a score of 354.7. The Indian shooters continued to impress in team events, winning bronze in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior Team competition. The trio of Rohit Kanyan, Vedant Nitin Waghmare, and Hithesh Srinivasan combined to secure a podium finish for India.
Adding to the medal tally, India also claimed a bronze medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior Team event, with Sameer, Abhinav Choudhary, and Sahil Choudhary contributing to the podium finish. With a total of five medals on the second day, India’s strong performance at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 brought their overall tally to eight medals, including 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze, showcasing consistent excellence in both individual and team events.
Earlier achievements included Sejal Kamble winning the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior individual event, while Himanshi secured the bronze. India also dominated the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior Team event, securing the gold medal with a total score of 1700, led by Sejal Kamble, Vanshika Choudhary, and Navya Bishnoi.
