The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) revealed a 16-member Indian team for the upcoming Mixed Disability Cricket Series versus England. Majid Ah Magray will lead the squad, with Sai Akash Saivamani as the vice-captain. The series will kick off with two matches at OurCoop County Ground, Derby, on August 5 and August 7.
India’s seven-match IT20 series will commence on August 5, followed by games at Uptonsteel Grace Road, Leicester, on August 9, and County Ground, Hove, on August 12. The action will then move to Arundel for matches on August 15 and August 16 before concluding at Lord’s Cricket Ground on August 19. All matches are set to start at 2:30 PM local time.
DCCI Secretary Ravi Kant Chauhan expressed pride in Majid Magray’s captaincy, hailing it as a significant moment for Jammu & Kashmir and the differently abled cricket community. The Indian Mixed Disability Cricket Team is presently in a preparatory training camp in Chhawla, near Dwarka, New Delhi, gearing up for the series against England.
Former Rajasthan Ranji captain Rohit Jhalani will lead the support staff for India’s tour, serving as the Head Coach. Dev Dutt and Rohit Sharma will assist as coach and fielding coach, respectively. Additionally, Ramswaroop Saini and Mayank Pushkar will be the Strength & Conditioning Coach and Physiotherapist, ensuring the team’s physical readiness.
