The Athletics Federation of India announced that the Indian squad for the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, USA, will be determined based on performances at three domestic competitions. The Indian Athletics Series 9 in Ludhiana, Punjab, on June 13 will feature events like 1500m, 3,000m, and more to select athletes for the World U20.
Another qualifying competition, the Indian Athletics Series (10th leg) in Trivandrum, Kerala, on June 14, will include events such as 100m, 200m, and high jump. The 24th National Junior Federation Competition in Tumkur, Karnataka, will serve as a qualification event for decathlon/heptathlon and race walk.
Performance at the 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships in Hong Kong from May 28 to 31 may also be considered for selection, provided athletes have participated in final trials and maintained their performance standards. The selection criteria specify qualification standards for various events for both men and women.
