Hockey India has revealed the 18-member Indian U-18 men’s team set to compete in the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 in Kakamigahara, Japan from May 29 to June 6. The squad, chosen after a rigorous camp at SAI Bhopal, includes Ketan Kushwaha as the captain. The team’s preparations involved a series against Australia U-18.
The Indian team, gearing up for the tournament, secured one win, one loss, and two draws against Australia U18. The U18 Asia Cup will feature a challenging group stage followed by knockout rounds. India’s campaign kicks off on May 29 against Kazakhstan, with matches against Japan, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei to follow.
Chief coach Sardar Singh expressed confidence in the selected squad, emphasizing tactical balance and preparation. The team focused on tactical discipline, penalty corner routines, and structure during training in Bhopal. Singh highlighted the team’s goal of executing plans effectively, topping their group, and aiming for tournament success.
The Indian U-18 men’s squad comprises goalkeepers Sawan Kumar and Ayush Rajak, defenders Ansh Bahutra, Arman Soreng, Ashish Tani Purti, Arshdip Singh, Avi Manikpuri, and Romit Pal, midfielders Rahul Yadav, Premchand Soy, Varinder Singh, Karan Gautam, and Siddharth Ben, and forwards Ketan Kushwaha (Captain), Akash Deep, Gazee Khan, Shahrukh Ali, and Prahalad Rajbhar.
